WebI always liked my genetics courses and could see pursuing that. Also, I feel like all the interesting data science jobs want Bioinformatics experience/degrees. My hesitation: I feel like I'd need to go back to school to switch since my genetics background wasn't super heavy into biochemistry. Plus, school is expensive. WebRecently I got into a BioE PhD, but since applying I’ve realized my actual interest is getting deeper bioinformatics/applied data science skills to level up my career (currently a bench researcher). I’ve also realized a PhD is mostly overkill for the career I have in mind, and I’d be better suited for an industry-focused Master’s.
