WebJan 1, 2009 · I've got a '90 Toyota pickup base model, 22R carbureted, 4-speed. Lately I have noticed that the truck seems to have a sluggish spot right when I take off from a stop. It is not particularly noticable unless I have to accelerate quickly, such as turning left through a gap in traffic. Once the engine picks up a few RPM, the power comes back.
